Australia Makes Great Coffee

Cafe (slightly random) Musings, Coffee is Our Passion

Melbourne Coffee Trek_1A

I’ve just been on the most amazing coffee walking tour of Melbourne.   I can’t wait to share with you the rest of the photos from this unique coffee journey, but for now ….

Our host Maria Paoli knows a thing or two about good coffee and she knows that Australian’s makes great coffee. This morning I met up with Maria to get a lesson in history – the history of the great love affair Melbournians have with their brew (dating back to the 1860s).  At 10:30 a.m on a balmy Saturday morning a group of 8 seriously passionate coffee lovers gathered on the corner of Bourke and Spring Street to experience Melbourne’s Historical Coffee Trek.

Melbourne Coffee Trek_1C

We cruised through the  famous laneways, sipping espresso, talking about coffee and discovering Melbourne’s world famous cafe scene. Even if your from Melbourne there’s nothing better than being a tourist in your own city.

I really enjoyed this amazing insight into the history of this cosmopolitan city and its long standing love affair with coffee; I promise to blog more on the subject as I am keen to share with you more on the topic.

Thanks again to our amazing host Maria!

Meantime why don’t you book a coffee walking tour with Maria Paoli, check it out on:-
